There are three primary colors: red, blue, yellow. All other colors are a blending of these colors or the lightening and darkening with white and black. (Black absorbs all color and white reflects all color so not technically colors) This is of course an elementary explanation but one which opens the eye to a vast array of color and beauty. I still remember the first time I went from the 8 count crayons to the mind-blowing box of 120 colors!!! Still, it all comes back to red, blue and yellow. This time of year our neighborhood houses are decorated in all shades of color. Symbols of the holiday abound from twinkling reindeer, Santas, coal-eyed snowmen, blow-up Disney characters, snowflakes and carolers to sparkling trees. It’s a vast array of color and lights that cause us to forget, even neglect the primary source of Christmas. (John 1:1-4,14) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. Let’s get back to the primary! PK
